Delores J. Spado

Delores J. Spado, 82, of Rome, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2015 with her loving family by her side.

She was born on March 21, 1933 in Rome a daughter of Bruno and Anna DeSantis Mercurio. On April 30, 1955 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Joseph P. Spado Sr. who passed away on February 17, 1997.

She was a graduate of RFA, class of 1951. She had worked as a secretary at GAFB until her retirement in 1992. Delores enjoyed cooking, baking, visiting Turning Stone Casino, watching the NY Yankees and soap operas, especially Days of our Lives. Her greatest love was for her family, her children and grandchildren.

Delores is survived by her beloved family, a daughter Sharon Spado and John Pich Jr. of Rome, two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph P. and Chris Spado Jr. of Hilton Head, SC and David and Sue Spado of Westmoreland; cherished grandchildren, Joseph III, Matthew, David, Brandi and Tiffany Spado, Craig Jr., Joshua and Chace Eichhorn, four great grandchildren; a sister Anna Mae Malizia of Fl. She was predeceased by several sisters and brothers.

Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday morning at 11:00 in St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant and where relatives and friends may meet with the family from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the Mass. Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours.
