Judith DeLucia Cronizer

Judith DeLucia Cronizer, 79, of Rome, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at home.

Judy was born in Rome on March 26, 1935, the daughter of Leonard and Lucia Campanaro DeLucia. She graduated from Rome Free Academy in 1953 and married Everett Cronizer on May 28, 1955 in St. John the Baptist Church. Together they shared over 56 years of marriage until his death in 2011.

She worked for three years at Rome Iron Mills, two years at Griffiss Air Force Base and Rome City Hall Engineers Dept. for 23 years.

Judy was an avid golfer and a former member of Crestwood Golf Course and Shamrock Golf Course belonging to several golf leagues. She enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She was a member of the Ava Dorfman Senior Center and the South Rome Senior Center and always enjoyed the trips planned by the Centers.

Judy is survived by her beloved family, two daughters and a son-in-law, Valerie Heilig and Susan and Carl Carman of Rome; a son and daughter-in-law, Everett and Susan Cronizer of Rochester Hills, MI; cherished grandchildren, Andrea (Michael) Kelleher of Ithaca, Sarah and her companion Michael Stannard of Rome, Melanie and Jaclyn of Rome and Emily and Evan Cronizer of Rochester Hills, MI; a sister-in-law, Maria DeLucia, Minoa; and two special nephews, Leonard and Dan DeLucia of Syracuse. She was predeceased by her husband Everett and a brother Dan DeLucia. A very special thank you to Monica Falitico, Virginia Merola and Patricia Melioris.

To honor Judy’s wishes, funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours.
