Malorzo, John R.

John Richard Malorzo, 80, of Rome, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2013 in St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, Utica.. He was born on November 1, 1932 in Rome a son of Joseph Lee and Mary Manfrates Malorzo. On November 1, 1952 he married Helen D. Seeley who passed away on January 17, 2005. He later married Patricia Ann Kirkpatrick in May, 2002 who passed away September 15, 2002. He attended Rome Schools and was a proud member of the US Navy. He owned and operated Century 21 Realty for many years until his retirement. John enjoyed playing golf and bowling. John is survived by his beloved children; a daughter and son-in-law, Toni Mary and William Gaines of Rome, a son and daughter-in-law John and Mary Smet Malorzo of Concord, CA, cherished grandchildren, Kristen Malorzo and Timothy Gaines, a step daughter Kelly Ann McCormick and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria and Joseph Rappa, a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Lee and Millie Malorzo and a brother Robert Malorzo. Funeral services will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 11:00 at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 7 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo. Contributions may be made in John’s memory to the ARC Oneida-Lewis Chapter, NYSARC, 2470 North Rd.
