Pina, Joyce M.

Joyce M. Pina, 72, of Rome passed away on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 24, 1941 in Rome the daughter of Americo and Carmella Bottini Cianfrocca. On August 26, 1961 in St. John the Baptist Church she married Eduardo Pina who passed away on August 19, 2007, a blessed union of 46 years. She was a graduate of RFA, class of 1959. She worked for the Rome Housing Authority for 26 years retiring in 2009. She was also a receptionist for Weight Watchers for 20 years. She enjoyed baking, spending time with her grandchildren and an occasional trip to the casino. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church. Joyce is survived by her beloved children; three daughters and sons-in-law, Diane and Daniel McCabe of NJ, Sharon and Darin Samuels of Lee Center and Lori and Michael Stiadle of Minoa, her cherished grandchildren, Kayla and Ricky McCabe, Ryan, Derek and Tyler Samuels, Matthew Aiguier and Molly Stiadle, a special aunt Dorothy Bauer and many cousins. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Betty Leighton, Pat D’Auito, Hospice, and the staff of the 5th floor of St. Luke’s Hospital. Funeral services will be celebrated on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio as celebrant, where relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. on Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
