Bendall, Eric C.

Eric C. Bendall, 49, of Rome passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in the Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 31, 1964 in Flint, MI, the son of Arthur and Alma Flom Bendall. On August 18, 1989 he married Maria DeCell. He was a graduate of Grand Blanc, MI High School. He proudly served and retired from the US Air Force, surviving from January 1984 to December 2004. He later worked as a Corrections Officer in the Marcy State Prison. He was an Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America and belonged to the Rome VFW. Eric is survived by his father, Arthur Bendall, two daughters, Courtney Bendall of Syracuse and Lauren Bendall of Troy, two sons, Jonathan Bendall of Rome and Joseph Bendall of Rome, Maria Bendall, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosemarie and Richard Martone of CT and Alice and Walter Meyer of PA, a brother and sister-in-law Larry and Darlene Bendall of AK, his best friend Bernice Merrill of Rome and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother Alma Bendall. Eric’s services will be private and there will be no calling hours. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery, Saratoga, NY. Contributions in Eric’s memory may be made to the VFW Post of Rome or to the Wounded Warriors Project. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
