Helen Anita DeAngelis, 83, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013 with her loving family by her side. She was born on February 1, 1930 in Rome the daughter of Nick and Domenica “Minnie” Vinci Santoro. On June 20, 1953 she married Vincent J. DeAngelis, a blessed union of 59 years. She graduated from RFA, class of 1948. She had worked for many years with the Rome City School District. One of her favorite pastime activities was reading. Helen is survived by her loving family; her mother Minnie, her husband Vinny, a daughter Vanessa Miller of Rome, a son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Barbara DeAngelis of Rome, her cherished grandchildren; Brittany Miller, Brandy Miller, Rachel DeAngelis, Eric Sliwinski and his wife Erin Kearney, a great granddaughter Scarlett Sliwinski, a brother and sister-in-law John and Patricia Santoro of Rome, Mark Miller, dear friends Kathy and Lenny Cadrette, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father Nick Santoro. Private funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
