Smith, Marie

Marie Smith, 87, of Rome passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2013. She was born on January 20, 1926 in Rome the daughter of Peter and Marie Carroll Spohn. She married Charles F. Smith who passed away in April, 1983. She attended Rome Schools. She had worked as a clerk for Kanoff’s Store and later for a senior age program. Marie is survived by her beloved family, her daughters and their spouses, Ann Marie and Larry Moore, Pam and Dale Davis and Sue McCauley and her special friend Bill DeGroat, her sons and their spouses; Charles Smith, Robert and Janine Smith, Bruce and April Smith and Michael Smith, cherished grandchildren; fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, a special ex-daughter-in-law Diane Danelski, a sister Theresa Veasy and a brother Charles Spohn. She was predeceased by a daughter Deborah, a great grandson Darrien and a brother Larry Spohn Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St. with the Rev. Paul F. Angelicchio officiating. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 prior to the service.
