Anania, John P.
John P. Anania, Jr., 86, of Rome and Sylvan Beach passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Rome Center For Health and Rehabilitation. He was born on April 1, 1926 in Rome a son of John and Irene Venturo Anania. On April 6, 1954 in Newark, NJ he married Thelma Hutto who passed away on October 6, 1980. He attended Rome Schools. He had worked for many years and retired from the NYS Thruway Authority in maintenance. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during WW II. John is survived by his beloved family; a daughter and son-in-law, Janenne and Donald Rutledge of Rome, his cherished grandchildren, Manny Rutledge and Mackenzie Rutledge, a brother Paul Anania of Rome and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He also leaves two dear friends, Matt Glod Jr. and Bruce Delles of Sylvan Beach. He was predeceased by three sisters, Annette Anania, Lucille Anania and Delores Guglielmo. Private funeral services will be held on Friday. As per John’s wishes there will be no calling hours. Interment will be in St. John’s Cemetery.
