Vincent Piccola


Vincent Piccola, 100, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 20, 2019 in the Rome Memorial Hospital SNF.

He was born on April 23, 1919 in Mildred, PA., the son of Peter and Mary Domenica Ficca Piccola. On June 15, 1953 in Italy he married Lucy Sticca who passed away June 12, 2016. He was a graduate of RFA, class of 1937. He proudly served in the US Army during WW II earning the Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with one Bronze Star.- one of many medals he earned.

Vinny worked for many years at the General Cable Corp. until his retirement. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He was an automobile fanatic, especially old cars.

Vinny is survived by his beloved family, Perry (Deborah Mastraccio) Piccola of Rome; cherished granddaughter and her husband, Tracey (Piccola) and Matthew Downs of Deerfield and a great granddaughter, baby girl, Juliette. He was predeceased by a son Richard “Rick” Piccola in 2014 and several other family members.

The family would like to thank the staff of Rome Hospital Residential Care Facility for their compassion and care of Vinny.

Private funeral services were held today with interment in St. John’s Cemetery. There were no calling hours.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
