Angelo Milone

      Angelo Milone, 94, of Rome, passed away on Friday, July 27, 2018 in the Rome Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

   He was born on July 13, 1924 in the Bronx, NY, the son of Gaetano and Bernadina Milone.  On June 29, 1968 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Rome, he married Jean Weyandt who passed away on September 9, 1995.  He attended school in the Bronx.  He proudly served with the US Army during WW II serving in Central Europe and Normandy.

   Angelo worked for Smart Time Manufacturing, Bronx, was a sewing machine mechanic for 29 years, foreman for Loomis Manufacturing from 1966 until 1975, and as a bartender for the American Legion retiring in 2000.

   He enjoyed wood working and had played baseball and stickball in the Bronx.  He had been Commander of the DAV and was a member of the American Legion and the VFW.

   Angelo is survived by his beloved family, two daughters, Lori Milone of Rome and Elissa Lindquist of Seattle, WA; cherished grandchildren, Kayla Hildenbrandt and Tiffany Hildenbrandt (her fiancée Lawrence Matthew Kalk); and great grandchildren, Dean Scott and Lexie Johnson; nieces Carol and Lynn and cousins Jean and Jerry. He also had dedicated friends Laverne Turner, John Belius and Bill DeHimer. He was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Charlie and Connie Milone and son-in-law Dale Lindquist.

   The family would like to thank the Rome Hospital SNF for his care.

   There will be no calling hours.  A graveside service with Military Honors will be at St. John’s Cemetery on Friday afternoon, August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. where relatives and friends are invited to attend.

   Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.
