Betty June Peterpaul

    Betty June Peterpaul, 83, of Lee Center, passed away on Saturday, October 24, 2015, in Rome Memorial Hospital RHF after a long illness.  She was born June 30, 1932 in Columbus Georgia, the daughter of Henry Earl & Elizabeth McVay Whitton. Betty was the eldest of her 3 siblings, Bill, Nell and Johnny.
      Betty worked as a long distance operator in Columbus GA, which is where she met her husband Gene of 64 years.  They were married in San Francisco CA. on Nov 24, 1951 and then moved to Rome.   Once in Rome, she worked at Montgomery Wards for more than 25 yrs.  Betty was a member of the American Legion Post 1794 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lee Center seniors.   While the kids were in school, she would volunteer in the cafeteria at Stokes Elementary School in Lee Center and Rome Catholic High School in Rome.

     Betty is survived by her beloved family, her husband Eugene; three children, a daughter Elizabeth and her husband Ray Smith of Christiansted, St Croix. US- Virgin Islands;  a son Eugene Jr. and wife Karen of The Woodlands, Texas, along with their two sons Chris & Nick and grandson Talon;  a son Robert and his wife Laura of Spring, Texas.  Her siblings, a brother Bill and his wife Bonnie of Lake Olympia, Washington;  a sister Nell Soto of Ft. Polk, Louisiana, along with several in-laws, nieces and nephews.  Betty was predeceased by her mother, father, brother Johnny and in-laws, Marion and Jim Gentile, Michael Peterpaul, Charlie Peterpaul, Joe and Hazel Peterpaul, Patrick and Mary Peterpaul and a brother in law, Frank Soto.

   Betty was loved by all that knew her.

   Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday morning November 7, 2015 at 11:00  in St. Joseph's Church, Lee Center for a Mass of Christian Burial with the Rev. Robert Kelly as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery.

   Relatives and friends may call on Friday, November 6, 2015 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bottini Funeral Home, 120 W. Embargo St.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions in Betty's memory may be made to St. Joseph's Church Memorial Fund.
