Scuderi, Rosario "Charles"

Rosario Charles (Charlie) Scuderi, 91, of Rome and Fair Oaks CA passed away on January 21, 2013 in Roseville, CA.He was born on July 16, 1921 in Rome a son of Salvatore “Sam” and Lena Falcone Scuderi. In 1963 he married Agatha Ann Bottini who passed away on March 23, 2010. He graduated from RFA and Ryder College with a BS degree in Business Administration. He proudly served for 2 1/2 years with the US Army during WW II. and was discharged as a Corporal. He was awarded the European Theater Ribbon with One Campaign Star. He worked for the Department of Air Defense as a Packaging Specialist retiring in 1989 after working for 39 years. He traveled all over the world instructing on how to create packaging specifications. He later worked as a gardener for 13 years and did award winning flower arrangements. Since he grew up on his family’s farm and worked in the field with his family, Charlie would quip to his wife and sons that gardening and farming are the same. He enjoyed his job for it brought him back to his roots of working on a farm. He is best known for his laid back attitude with a do it tomorrow approach. He was bilingual and could write and speak fluent Italian. He loved to read books and magazines on world history and enjoyed cross word puzzles, playing lotto, watching sports and collecting all kinds of odds and ends, one being stamps. He was a very devoted father who cared about his children’s future. Charlie is survived by his beloved family; his sons, Edward J. and Bonnie Bacchi, Joseph C. Scuderi and special friend Marie Batlin and Paul J. and Rosemary Scuderi all of CA., cherished grandchildren, Lane, Forrest, Adrianne, Paul Jr., Abrianna and Chloe, a sister Mary Vacco of Syracuse and two brothers, Carmen Scuderi of Rome and Sam Scuderi of Albany, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother John Scuderi and a sister-in-law Janet Scuderi. As per Charlie’s wishes no service or memorial was held. Burial will be in the spring at St. John’s Cemetery.
