Eleanor T. Coniglio 82, Rome, passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2020. She was born in Rome on January 28, 1938, a daughter of Luigi and Theresa Gambetta Tagliaferri. She was educated at St. Mary’s School and St. Aloysius Academy. She was a member of St. Mary’s/ St. Peter’s Church and Altar Rosary Society. She was also a lay associate of the CSJ Ministry. She celebrated a 52-year marriage to Joseph P. Coniglio who passed away in 2010. Eleanor retired from New York State Unified Court System in 2010 as the Chief Clerk in the Rome City Court. Charles H. “Charlie” Cavanaugh

Charles H. “Charlie” Cavanaugh, 83, a life-long resident of Rome, NY passed away after a brief illness on October 10, 2020 at the Abraham House Rome.. He was born July 2, 1937 to the late Charles J. and Doris Bourgeois Cavanaugh, who lovingly nick-named him “Sonny.” Charlie was a proud veteran having served in the United States Army as well as the Air Force Reserves. He took pleasure in sharing the many memories of time spent in the military. Charlie continued his service to the public as a fireman in the City of Rome Fire Department. John Camastra

John Camastra, 92, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at the Katherine Lutheran Home. He was born in Staletti, Italy on October 15, 1927 and was one of five children born to Joseph and Mary Bevelacqua Camastra. He came to the United States with his family when he was two years old and settled in Rome, was educated in Rome schools and lived here his whole life. John proudly served his country in the US Navy until September 13, 1945 when he was honorably discharged. John was united in marriage to Raffaelina Grillone on April 24, 1948 in St. John the Baptist Church, a blessed union of 72 years until her death on November 27, 2019.
