John K. Bassett, Sr.

John K. Bassett, Sr., 72, of Rome, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 in the Rome Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 9, 1947 in Oneida the son of Lynn and Agnes Kennedy Bassett. On October 23, 1971 in St. John the Baptist Church he married Grace Facciolo. a loving union of 48 years. He was a graduate of RFA, class of 1966. He proudly served with the US Army and the 331st Reserve Unit. He worked as a machinist at Revere Copper and Brass until his retirement. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, motorcycling and playing poker. John is survived by his beloved family, his wife Grace; three sons, John Bassett Jr

Domenico Conestabile

On September 26th, 2020 our beloved father, grandfather, and the patriarch of the Conestabile Family, Domenico Conestabile, peacefully took his last breath in the comfort of the caring ICU nurses at Rome Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 27, 1921 in Staletti’, Italy, the son of the late Antonio and Maria Iannone Conestabile. On October 4th, 1959 he married Serafina Megna, a blessed union of 59 years until Serafina’s passing on December 28th, 2018. Joanne Comstock

Joanne Comstock, 72, of Westmoreland, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, September 23, 2020. She was born on September 18, 1948 in Cuba, NY a daughter of the late Lloyd and Anita Nunamaker. She was a graduate of Cuba, NY High School. Joann was a loving, caring wife, mother, grandmother, stepmother and friend to many. She enjoyed reading, gardening and music. She loved being amongst mother nature. Joann was passionate about animals and her pets. She worked (retired) as a teacher’s aide at the local Boces. She enjoyed taking care of special needs children and was dedicated to her work. She also volunteered and helped those in need in any way she could. Joann enjoyed life fully on her terms

Leon L. Caporale

Leon L. Caporale, 85, of Fayetteville, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2020 after a brief illness. He was born in New York City on August 8, 1935, the son of Dominick and Anna Stellato Caporale. He proudly served with the US Army. Leon retired after many years in the food service industry as a chef. Leon is survived by a brother Alfred Tofani of Liverpool; a sister-in-law Joan Tofani of Ilion; an aunt Gemma Smurlo of CA., and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother John Tofani and a sister-in-law Kathryn Tofani. Joseph C. Fazio, Jr., 81, of Rome, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2020 in St. Luke’s Hospital. He was born on September 8, 1939 in Rome the son of Joseph C. and Anne Stosal Fazio, Sr. On October 12, 1962, in Rome, he married Sheila K. McLaren, a blessed union of 57 years. He attended schools in Rome. He proudly served as a member of the US Marines Corp. Joe was an exterminator at GAFB and the owner of Rome Pest Control Services. He enjoyed bowling and fishing and was a fanatic for the NY Yankees and also was a foodie. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church.
