Antoinette R. Farino

Antoinette R. Farino, 94, of Marcy, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 in the Presbyterian Home, New Hartford. She was born on May 16, 1925 in Rome, the daughter of James and Josephine Aldi Farino. She attended Rome Schools and later worked in food service at the Rome State School (DDSO). Antoinette enjoyed travelling and spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother and four sisters. Lorraine Campbell

Lorraine Campbell, 71, of Rome, NY, passed away in her sleep on December 14th, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 11th, 1948, to the late Angeline and Gene Bartolotti. On April 22nd, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Norm Campbell. Together they raised two sons, Gene and Norman, and a daughter Elizabeth. Lorraine had various jobs through the years, including Griffis Child Development Center, and all involved her warm heart caring for others. Lillian Diehl Roth, 96, passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019. She was born on April 22, 1923 at Carrick, in Pittsburgh, PA., the daughter of Glenn W. and Edith Brown Diehl. Lillian graduated from South Hills High School in Pittsburgh and later attended classes at MVCC and Utica College. She was employed at Revere and later at Lynch Realty and Rome Turney Radiator. After leaving business she resided in Florida for 20 years. For a number of years she was very active at her church, the First United Methodist in Rome and in Florida. Selma Calicchia, 91, of Rome N.Y., beloved aunt, peacefully passed away December 3, 2019 after a sudden illness. Named Maria Selma after her maternal grandmother, she was the daughter of Alio and Francesca Calicchia from Italy. Selma was highly regarded in the Rome community having helped multiple generations of families in her 30 plus years at the Rome Savings Bank. A graduate of Rome Free Academy, she studied through the American Institute of Banking. Prior to her banking career, Selma worked as an expert seamstress and sewing instructor for Singer Sewing for 15 years.
